Manchester-based design studio Music has rebranded The BRIT Awards. It sees the introduction of a new visual identity and a new concept for the BRIT trophies. They started with the BRIT trophy, streamlining its shape and recasting it in white (below).
By doing this each trophy has now become a blank canvas, the idea is that each year a different well known British designer or artist will be invited to put their own spin on the trophy. The 2011 awards will be designed by Vivienne Westwood. Below is the initial sketch of her design.
The identity is informed by the new outline of the freshly restyled trophy, which appears as a white silhouette against a B shape that is filled with changing imagery.
I really like this design and the way that they are going to change it every year means that it will keep it fresh and interesting.
